To narrate about Odessa is a difficult task. Hardly you might find so many towns that could acquire world fame for such a short period of time of existence ( a little more than two hundred years). Odessa was fated to be born by sea. Date, the 2nd of September 1794, is a birthday of the town of Odessa. From the first day of its foundation Odessa was and is an international city. Besides Russians and Ukrainians a considerable part of the population consist of people by origin from Balkans and countries of Western Europe.
